Introduction
The 2010 Soccer World Cup is a monumental project to the likes
of which South Africa has never before seen.
Roads, railways, airports and seaports need to be built or upgraded to
accommodate the high demand such resources will experience in the months
leading up to the Soccer World Cup. Living space such as hotels, guesthouses
and hostels need to be prepared to accommodate the hundreds-of-thousands of
visitors expected. Stadiums need to be planned and erected to host the
soccer games.
The success of hosting such an event is directly linked to the creation
and implementation of comprehensive research, foresight and planning.
This is where a long-established company such as EvaluNet comes into
play.
Educating a generation
Often in the media we hear about how vastly crime, vagrancy, rape,
human-trafficking, violence and unemployment will take its toll on the
success of the Soccer World Cup. If the soccer fails, we fail as a nation.
EvaluNet is indirectly contributing to the hopeful-success of the 2010
Soccer World Cup through its products and services. EvaluNet is all about
education. Statistics have proven that education leads to employment, and
employment in turn tends to lead to a lower crime rate, and lower rates of
all forms of violence.
In a very funny, but oddly true way, EvaluNet is promoting a healthy
society, which in turn, contributes to the overall progression of the World
Cup Soccer in our country.
By helping to educate today’s learners, EvaluNet is ensuring a generation
of young people who are capable of entering universities and colleges for
much needed positions such as architects and engineers, required for the
infrastructure needed for the World Cup Soccer. EvaluNet is ensuring the
future of learners who wish to become doctors, nurses, tour guides, bus
drivers, workers, builders, plumbers, pilots, police officers, painters,
entrepreneurs, journalists, photographers, marketers, charity fundraisers,
shop assistants, development workers, security guards, paramedics,
firefighters, telecommunications officers, electricians, landscapers, land
surveyors, data capturers, mechanics, dieticians, audiovisual specialist…
all of which require some type of formal education… and all of which are
very necessary to host a successful 2010 World Cup Soccer!
By and before 2010, South Africa needs these educated and qualified
people to fulfil their various roles in society to ensure that we can truly
be proud of the legacy the Soccer World Cup will leave behind.
Without the knowledge that comes with a good and proper, well-rounded
education, South Africa can forget even dreaming of hosting another event
like the Soccer World Cup.
A stable economy
Through EvaluNet’s community development work and corporate social
investment interests, the company is contributing positively to the South
African economy by ensuring a literate, learned, and skilled work force.
While the 2010 Soccer World Cup may hold no direct beneficial economic
interest to EvaluNet, the company in turn is ploughing back over half a
million rand into sport and cultural development. The Soccer World Cup
therefore holds an indirect economic interest to EvaluNet.
As summed up by EvaluNet PRO Adrian Marnewick: “EvaluNet is not just any
conventional company. No, EvaluNet is a community within a much, much larger
community. And communities care for each other. If South Africa wants to
host the 2010 Soccer World Cup, then we say ‘hey, big-up to SA’, and we will
support this country 100%. That is the only way to move forward. To support
and be proud. To educate. To grow teachers. To grow learners. And to shape a
bright and beautiful future for South Africa. Our South Africa”.
