EvaluNet has donated software to the value of R6,000.00 to
the Melkbos Care Centre as part of a move to make
previously disadvantaged school learners computer literate. The non-profit centre
accommodates underprivileged children residing in the Rietvlei
Bush area in Melkbosstrand, Cape Town, and
provides much needed help with schoolwork through extra lessons,
computer lessons, homework help, projects and help with revising
for tests. The centre also provides a healthy cooked meal, a bath, washing of their school clothes, daily transport to and from school, a healthy packed school lunch, school clothes, books, stationary, payment for sundry items such as school camps and visits to the doctor when needed.
It is the centres primary goal to educate these children throughout school and then onto further tertiary education of their choice (i.e. trade school, university …etc).
EvaluNet has donated their E-SCHOOL and MathPro software to
the care centre. Centre Manager, Keilah Papas says, "Our learners are loving using the software and it is wonderful to see learning and fun being integrated. We believe the software is highly beneficial to the learners education as it provides them with a fun medium for learning their school curriculum. The questions asked in the exercises stimulate the learners to understand and remember their schoolwork. Thank you
EvaluNet for your kind donation!"
