Cape-based EvaluNet specializes in designing relevant educational software for home and school use, through its GetAhead and XT brands. Realizing a gap in the market for educational software relevant to the needs of South African schools and learners, EvaluNet was launched in 1996 with products to cater for primary and high school learners, as well as educators.
Our first product (for schools) was released in October 1996, with Woodridge College in Port Elizabeth as our very first customer. The company has gone from strength to strength and we currently have in excess of 500 South African schools on our client list as well as a number of prominent schools in Ghana, Kenya and Lesotho.
The first version of our home range was launched into retail in January 1997. Currently packaged under the GetAhead brand it is distributed by Bowline via approximately 180 stores countrywide.
In December 2002 EvaluNet received the prestigious 'Proudly South African' accreditation to promote consumers' awareness of the quality educational software packages that are available locally, whilst establishing recognition for our own role in the promotion of education.
With our Head Office situated in Welgelegen (Cape Town), EvaluNet has grown from its humble beginnings to a full time operation with a staff complement of 10 and contractors in excess of 80. By leveraging the expertise of highly qualified and experienced educators in the design and authoring of our software, we ensure that our products are continually updated to conform to and exceed local requirements.
Concurs Proudly South African Chief Executive, Martin Feinstein, "Many South African companies continue to produce products that far surpasses their more expensive imported alternatives, whilst being specifically suited to local requirements. We are delighted to announce EvaluNet as a new Proudly South African company and believe that they set an excellent example for other local companies to innovate their offerings for the local market."
