My 1st week of 2010

This is the end of my first working week of 2010.

I am really excited about the prospect of attending at least one of the 2010 World Cup matches at the new Cape Town stadium. I’ve applied for 6 matches; hopefully I only get tickets for 2 or 3 of them.

But back to work … it was really great seeing my colleagues after our well earned and deserved end of year break. I regard everyone at EvaluNet as a friend, and this contributes to the enjoyment of working at such a vibrant and lively company.

Jennifer and I certainly enjoyed our first Christmas in our own home without the business being there (for those who don’t know, for the past 14 years EvaluNet has operated out of our home, and we are now in our own offices next to MWeb). There is still much to be done at home to restore it into a place that is homely, but we are getting there slowly but surely. See the photos here.

This week we have caught up on news, checked and deleted emails, appointed a additional graphic designer, planned a very exciting project (more about that later!), interviewed potential programmers, reviewed our budget for 2010, finalised our teacher workshops for the 1st quarter in the Western Cape, celebrated Tania’s (our Make IT Big coordinator) birthday, and much, much more …

It was also very rewarding to get Laerskool Constantiapark as an XT customer, eventually … and equally rewarding to receive the sales report from LeisureBooks (they sell our GetAhead range of software).

So to all our customers, all of us at EvaluNet are working hard and hopefully smartly to ensure that we provide you with more than what you expect.

How was your first working week of 2010?
