- ... it's often frustrating to have learners complete their task
in the computer room long before others. What I now do with those
'quick' learners is to get them working in XT ... it keeps them
meaningfully occupied while I focus on the learners that need my
attention.
- I use EvaluNet XT exclusively for my computer literacy classes.
I have authored material based on what I teach in computer literacy
and then use the exercises to assess my learners' progress. It saves
me lots of time.
- I use XT for about 10 minutes of nearly each lesson. During this
time I let the learners work in EMS, Natural Sciences, Maths or
whatever they choose. The teachers really appreciate what I’m doing
to help improve their learners’ results. It’s far more productive
than them playing games!
- I use XT to author exercises based on the ICDL (International
Computer Drivers Licence) material. This helps my learners to be
better prepared for their ICDL exams.
- The old e-SCHOOL was hardly used by our teachers, but since we
upgraded to XT more and more teachers are making use of technology
for the benefit of their subject. This helps me get on with what I
need to do!
- Some of our teachers have already started adding their own
material relevant to the learning areas they teach in grades 10 and
11.

- XT has saved my ‘bacon’, on
more than one occasion! I quickly used it to print out an test
for use in my classroom. We all forget, we are all human …
- I make good use of XT Author at home. I’ve copied lots of
questions from my old tests and exam papers. It’s a real time
saver, because all the formatting is automatically done for me …
and when the learners do the test in the IT room I have no
marking to do!
- I have really benefited a lot from EvaluNet XT … so far I’ve
had the opportunity for 4 of my classes to do an assessment in
our computer room – the LO and AS breakdown that XT gives me is
invaluable.
- My learners like the fact that they can revise in the
computer room what I teach them in the classroom. I’m really
grateful that our computer teacher allocates some time to the
use of EvaluNet XT.
- I use the results generated by XT to determine what LO’s I
need to focus on in class …

- We don’t really have much time
to use EvaluNet XT during the term, but we use it extensively
during assessment time at our school – it really saves our
teachers lots of time.
- At last a product that can have a meaningful and positive
impact on the academic performance of our learners … the fact
that it saves my teachers lots of time is a bonus.
- Our science teacher has added lots of his own material into
XT – what I’m excited about is that it helps my teachers grow
professionally – it’s not only there for the learners to benefit
from.

- In Study Mode we learnt about
healthy eating. We answered questions which involve the food
pyramid and non health foods. When a question opens on the
screen you can click on a pencil that will show you a picture
about the question.
- My favourite is Challenge Mode
because I challenge a friend to see who can win.
- Study Mode was very fun
because it made us practise how to work in groups because we
shared our information and we heard each others ideas and we put
them together to see if they made sense. We kept on getting the
questions right and we were amazed how we got them right but
unfortunately at the end we got 9/10 but that was good.
- Challenge Mode was very fun
and challenging and it also tested us how much we know about
Life Orientation. At the end Tamlin got 1 point and I got 15
points. I was very happy I didn't know that I knew so much about
L.O.
- I learnt the most in Study
Mode because it was the first one we did and I learnt about
animals and plant life in Natural Science that I didn't know at
all.
